From October 2-4, I’ll have the pleasure of presenting three of my current musical projects as part of "Portrait Verena Zeiner" at Porgy & Bess (Strenge Kammer).
Each evening highlights a different facet of my artistic work as pianist and composer, and I’m very much looking forward to it!

The first evening (Oct. 2) is dedicated to my piano-drums duo with Ziv Ravitz. We’ll be performing music from previously released albums, along with some new material.

On the second evening (Oct. 3), contemporary chamber music meets improvisation. For several years now, I have been composing for classical chamber ensembles. With “Field Notes”, I experiment with the sound textures of the traditional piano trio — exploring the exciting dialogue between composition and improvisation. Together with Lisi Gansch (violin) and Marlene Muthspiel (cello), I’m excited to share early insights into this open, exploratory creative process.

The third and final evening (Oct. 4) is dedicated to free improvisation.
Together with the renowned saxophonist Viola Falb and drummer Chris Parker, an exciting newcomer on the Vienna scene, I explore the possibilities of spontaneous musical encounters — open, adventurous, and born entirely in the moment.

Von 2. bis 4. Oktober 2025 lade ich herzlich ein zu „Portrait Verena Zeiner“ im Porgy & Bess – einer dreiteiligen Konzertreihe, in der ich drei meiner aktuellen musikalischen Projekte präsentiere. Jeder Abend eröffnet einen anderen Einblick in meine vielseitige Arbeit als Pianistin und Komponistin.
Den Auftakt am 2. Oktober macht mein Duo mit dem Schlagzeuger Ziv Ravitz. Gemeinsam präsentieren wir Musik aus bereits erschienenen Alben – aber auch ganz neue Kompositionen.

Am zweiten Abend (3. Oktober) treffen zeitgenössische Kammermusik und Improvisation aufeinander.
Seit einigen Jahren komponiere ich auch für klassische kammermusikalische Besetzungen. Mit „Field Notes“ experimentiere ich mit den Klangtexturen des klassischen Klaviertrios – im spannenden Dialog zwischen Komposition und Improvisation. Gemeinsam mit Lisi Gansch (Violine) und Marlene Muthspiel (Cello) freue ich mich, erste Einblicke in diesen offenen, forschenden Arbeitsprozess zu geben.

Der dritte und letzte Abend (4. Oktober) widmet sich der freien Improvisation.
Zusammen mit der renommierten Saxophonistin Viola Falb und dem Schlagzeuger Chris Parker, einem aufregenden Newcomer der Wiener Szene, erkunde ich die Möglichkeiten spontaner musikalischer Begegnungen – offen, risikofreudig und ganz im Moment geboren.
